6 x 7. Forty-three color printed tests are mounted on heavy grey paper in two folding concertina-style sequences, in leatherette covers.  Worn along joints, else very good. These color perception tests consist of colored circles (numbers, figures, letters) arranged within larger circles.

Oblong, 16 x 11.  Originally issued in three parts (1834-1835) and later bound with a general title (present here). 120 leaves, as follows:• Ecritures Anciennes: 40 plates, with title as Plate 1 (note plate 37 from the 3rd part is misbound here, the first Pl. 34) and Pls. 29,30 and 32 are misnumbered.• Specimens des Ecritures Modernes:  40 plates with title as Plate 1.• Gallerie.  Compositions Ecritures Anciennes et Modernes: 40 plates (with title as Plate 1); general title Album du Moyen-Age (with the date 1836) not numbered; and lithograph of Strasbourg as Plate 40.  These latter two plates are tinted lithographs and the only uncolored plates in the album.  There was no plate 39 issued (note Pl. 37 is misbound (as Pl. 34) in the 1st section and Pl. 28 is misbound after Pl. 36 in this section).Original (?) calf-backed blue boards with title label on upper cover. Binding worn and soiled.  Scattered foxing to the plates and some toning, which is usual.  Good.

5 x 7. 10 leaves accordion-fold with two pages of text and 18 progressive woodblock prints. The woodblocks are printed on separate leaves, then tipped to the folded structure. There are ten prints on one side, and 10 on the other. Attached to beveled boards covered in purple & silver Japanese paper, with cover label. A few leaves have corner creases, else fine.

20 1/2 x 26 1/2.  (4), 16, (1) pages plus frontis after a drawing by Allen and 5 plates after drawings by Sharp. Recent boards with linen spine; facsimile of original title label on upper cover. The contents have been completely restored with the paper de-acidified and each leaf hinged on linen. Very good.
