Volume I, part 1 is accomplished entirely in contemporary manuscript facsimile; its 10 illustrations are hand colored copperplates. The other five parts are printed, with half titles for each part, and titles for each volume. The 50 plates are color-printed, and have their original tissue guards. Occasional foxing, but mostly clean and fresh. Bound in one volume with new calf spine & morocco label, preserving the original marbled board sides. A very good copy.

7 1/4 x 8 3/4. 86 leaves, most lithographed on both sides, 24 pp. letterpress catalogue of members. Original purple-brown blindstamped cloth with design in yellow & gilt sphinx on both covers. Cloth is worn around edges, revealing boards at corners; wear at spine ends & small piece of cloth missing from spine; two inches at top of upper hinge beginning to separate; faint spots to covers; brief closed tear in one lower margin, one gathering loosening, contents very good. Unusual to find the binding in its original state, many copies having been rebacked with new spines.
