18 x 14. 24 leaves. A satiric "natural history." Ten plates (13 1/2 x 9 1/2) are etched with images of the beasts, their common names & binomial nomenclature. The etchings are hand colored by Kuch, in the tradition of natural history books. A description of each creature is printed in shaped typography on translucent paper through which the creature is glimpsed. Bound in blue boards with a red spine, the book is housed in a red cloth tray case which resembles a specimen box. Through its glass window one sees the specimen--a collage of the American Imperial Moth (pulp painted by Kuch)-- and its printed label pinned to the binding.

17 x 12. Poetry, lithographs, and etchings by Michael Kuch retell the Biblical story of Samson from Delilah's point of view. The book's images refer to and play upon well-known works of art. The upper cover has a collage of a temple with marbled paper pillars. The temple image continues throughout the book, with paired columns of text surmounted by etchings as friezes; the entire text of Judges is incorporated into the etchings. Between the columns of text, twelve lithographs depict Samson in his labors. Bound coptic style, the sheets are woven together at fore edges. A built in easel supports the book in its case.

15 x 12. 45 leaves. Two musical works are united by the theme of water. In "Après Moi," a chorus questions why Noah has forgotten the victims of hurricane Katrina. A huge 12-block woodcut (from cypress) is cut into individual blocks and alternates with the text in the poet's hand--like a river running through the poem. Alternating with the 6 stanzas are 6 small etchings of an ark metamorphosing into the raven sent to seek dry land. The complete 12-block woodcut is folded into a pocket between the two poems. For "Orpheus" Kuch created Japanese-style woodcuts with water-based ink. Fragments of Sappho's writings are incorporated into Wilner's verse. Both parts are bound by Sarah Creighton in a dos à dos binding of river-like paste-paper boards, in a cloth tray case fitted to also hold a CD of the music.
