15 x 12. 45 leaves. Two musical works are united by the theme of water. In "Après Moi," a chorus questions why Noah has forgotten the victims of hurricane Katrina. A huge 12-block woodcut (from cypress) is cut into individual blocks and alternates with the text in the poet's hand--like a river running through the poem. Alternating with the 6 stanzas are 6 small etchings of an ark metamorphosing into the raven sent to seek dry land. The complete 12-block woodcut is folded into a pocket between the two poems. For "Orpheus" Kuch created Japanese-style woodcuts with water-based ink. Fragments of Sappho's writings are incorporated into Wilner's verse. Both parts are bound by Sarah Creighton in a dos à dos binding of river-like paste-paper boards, in a cloth tray case fitted to also hold a CD of the music.
