After the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, Goodman rode his bicycle almost daily from his home on Manhattan's upper west side to the disaster site. He rode for four months. And wrote about what he saw. In Fall 2010 Goodman and Schanilec repeated that ride. The artist's illustrations are based on that ride.
