New-York: Printed [by D. & G. Bruce] for Ezra Sargeant, 1810. Two vols. 4 x 7. 346; 348 pages + 8 full page wood engravings by Alexander Anderson. Bound in full green leather, spines faded to brown. A "composite" binding with central embossed plaque framed by a wide gilt border; spines richly gilt, board edges gilt at corners, marbled endpapers. Wear to edges and joints; some spotting to covers of Vol. I. Still, very good. Early owner's name, Sylvia C. Sampson, calligraphed with flourishes on title pages. Three of the plates have closed tears: one is brief; one several inches; one torn in half horizontally. These could be repaired on the reverse with archival tissue. Item #16448
