Hamburg & Munich, ca. 1913. A collection of about 75 specimens of design & typefaces. The 4-page specimens are tipped in, and the single page specimens are mounted, onto 34 leaves of good quality black stock. Bound into flexible cloth boards with string ties, printed cover label. A little extremity wear, 2 specimens foxed but most are fine. A unique album. Item #16486
These specimens of programs, announcements, advertisements, & an occasional letterhead show case both the types & decorative material available from the foundry, and the design work and printing from their presses. Most pieces are printed in several colors. Two larger ones are folded. Glass Antigua, the foundry's newest face, is featured. It's a slightly Art Nouveau face by the poster designer Franz Paul Glass (1886–1964). A unique album, perhaps a salesman sample book.
