No. 41 of 55 copies signed by the artist. "What interested Enid Mark most was the relationship between text and image. As she searched for deeper connections between the verbal and the visual, her aim was to have her art considered as books, and her books considered as art." (ELM web site). Edna St. Vincent Millay cared about the appearance of her books--the type, the paper, the binding. On the 100th anniversary of Millay's birth, Mark hoped "that within these covers the visual imagery echoes the spirit of her text in such a way that both, together, form a very special 'grace from simple stone'."
