An excellent technical dictionary covering all aspects of printing and, with Pasko, a primary source of information about the development of the printing industry in 19th century America. Text is profusely illustrated and the plates are mostly chromolithographs or lithographs by Duval & Hunter and include a marvelous chromo of a Columbian as frontis; a leaf of raised printing for the blind, color chart, double page chromo of a Gutenberg Bible leaf, multi-colored page of rule, and 3 plates of actual watermarks.
