Hans Mueller was a master of the woodcut, who specialized in illustrating majory literary works. He also taught graphic arts at Columbia or over 20 years. His best known student was Lynd Ward. A comprehensive bibliography forms the second part of the book. One of 580 copies, this is incribed in the colophon by Salter to "The Veatchs--with all good wishes and many thanks for all the help with Kredel--my next project."
